I need the words to the song "He Didn't Come Down" (I believe it was
by the Cathedrals).

Part of the lyrics are:

Often I stop to think just where I'd be,
Had Jesus come down from that cruel tree.
They'd be no hope on earth, no peace could be found.
Praise God I'm so glad that He didn't come down.

If you also have the chords that would be wonderful, but I can
probably figure them out.

I've got tons of song books and can not find that song in any. Nor
could I find the lyrics on the web anywhere.

Thank you very much.

Please email the words to ***@av1611.org

Terry,

Just going from memory here and it has been YEARS since I heard that song,
so all of them may not be correct:

Often I stop to think just where I would be
If He had come down from that cruel tree.
There'd be no hope for man, no peace could be found.
I thank God that He didn't come down.

Cho:
He didn't come down, oh, no, He didn't come down
Though ten thousand angels were gathered around
He could have called them to set Him free
But He stayed on the cross for you and for me.

Picture His mother there with tears in her eyes
As they mocked and scorned Him and pierced His side
They said, "If Thou be King, then come to the ground."
But He prayed, "Father, forgive them." And He didn't come down

What are your plans for those lyrics once you get them? Just curious.

Myself, I need all the Cats' lyrics beause I'm doing a "Tribute To The
Cathedrals" 3 CD boxed set, where I sing all of the parts and imitate
the singers who made them famous. I laid down my Bobby Clark and Scott
Fowler tracks yesterday, today I'm starting on voice conditioning for
my Younce impression. I've already downed two pots of coffee and
smoked three packs of Winstons, but I'm still in the baritone range.
Maybe I'll get lucky and catch a cold.

David, would you like to contribute a pagan piano riff for "Boundless
Love" or "He Made A Chage"? Let me know. I'll check my e-mail when I
get back from Taco Bell....If I can't sing it, I'l belch it!

Do ya think they realize I'm kiddin' or should I add a disclaimer? I
never know 'round here! :)

Myself, I need all the Cats' lyrics...
Aw, thought you were being serious for a minute there. I've got
nearly every Cathedrals song (not album - song) and plan to one day
covert all my albums to mp3 and attach cover scans/words/liner notes
to the files.

I was thinking someone with all the song words could save me some
work!

Allan.
